EXCITING THINGS TO COME!
Stay tuned for exciting updates about current services and NEW programs coming your way!
LAST LITTER PROGRAM
As part of our efforts to prevent pet overpopulation, we are thrilled to officially announce the upcoming “Last Litter Program.” Through this program, we will provide free spay and neuter vouchers for cats and dogs with unexpected litters. This initiative aims to reduce the burden of unplanned litters and ensure that every animal has a loving home.
How It Works:
- Adult cats or dogs will receive a voucher for free spaying or neutering at one of our partnering veterinary clinics.
- The entire litter of kittens or puppies will be transferred to Northwoods Animal Alliance for vaccinations, necessary vetting, microchipping, and a plan for spay/neuter before being adopted by their new families.
Please understand assistance is contingent upon qualifying factors, available space, and financial resources. Nevertheless, we are committed to making a positive impact within our community and alleviating the strain on local shelters and animal-related services. Please note that while we do not operate a shelter, we strive to serve as a valuable resource for animal welfare in the area. Stay tuned for more information on this program and other upcoming initiatives in 2024!
Free Microchipping Program: Enhancing Pet Safety and Reunification
Microchipping is a crucial tool in ensuring the safety and well-being of pets. It provides a reliable and permanent form of identification, significantly increasing the chances of reuniting lost pets with their families. Consider the following statistics:
- More than 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the U.S. annually.
- One in three pets will become lost at some point during their lifetime.
- The return rate for microchipped dogs in animal shelters is over 52%, representing a 238% increase in comparison to non-microchipped dogs.
- For microchipped cats, the return rate is over 38%, marking a 2,000% increase compared to non-microchipped cats.
By participating in our microchipping program, you are not only providing your pet with a “voice” in the event they become lost, but also significantly increasing the likelihood of a joyous reunion in case they stray. Stay tuned for more updates on our microchipping initiatives and how you can participate in this valuable program.
Emergency Financial Assistance and Pet Food Assistance
In response to the growing need for support during emergencies and financial hardships, we are launching an emergency financial assistance program. Funding is very limited at this time. More details about how to qualify will be available soon!
Where’s The Food Program
We are pleased to be expanding our pet food assistance program. No pet should go hungry, and no owner should have to choose between buying pet food and surrendering an animal. Our area is overwhelmed with food-insecure homes. Pet food needs shouldn’t add to that struggle. In most cases, we are able to ship your current brand of pet food directly to your home. This helps avoid the common health issues that come with switching to random donated foods.
Please note that these programs are reserved for emergency situations, and eligibility will be determined based on available funding and other variables. Although these programs are still evolving, you can reach out to us directly for possible assistance now. We do not judge or discriminate.
