Adoptions

Our priority is to find the perfect forever home for each dog or cat, taking into consideration the pet’s personality characteristics, age, energy level, health status, etc., as well as the living situation within the home of a potential adopter. Note that submission of an adoption application does not guarantee that you will be selected as the new guardian for an animal.

Our volunteers know the foster animal’s behavior and temperament and are trained to look for the best fit in placing the pets. We consider many factors before finalizing adoptions. We also check vet references, conduct home visits, and  . You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt an animal from NWAA.

NWAA does not discriminate based on age, sex, gender, race, sexual orientation, or marital status. NWAA’s only concern is finding the right home for each animal in our care. Given the thoroughness of our adoption process and the fact that our team is volunteer‑based, the review may take 7–14 days to complete. We appreciate your patience as we work carefully through each application.
